Sports & Performance Counseling

EMDR can be used to work with distressing memories and negative beliefs that contribute to sports performance anxiety. For some athletes, experiences such as making an important mistake, losing a competition, being criticized by a coach, or becoming embarrassed during a game can continue to influence how future performances feel.

EMDR can focus on these specific experiences and beliefs, with the goal of helping past events carry less emotional weight during future practices and competitions.
